The Leadership Pyramid
The leadership pyramid is a model that describes the different levels of leadership within an organization. It is typically depicted as a pyramid, with the lower levels representing more junior or less experienced leaders, and the higher levels representing more senior or experienced leaders.
Within the leadership pyramid, there are four types of ministry tasks that people may be responsible for:
Assigned ministry tasks: These are tasks that are specifically assigned to a leader by someone else, such as their manager or supervisor. These tasks may be related to the leader’s specific job responsibilities or may be additional tasks that are required to support the organization’s goals and objectives.
Self-initiated tasks: These are tasks that a leader takes on of their own accord, without being explicitly assigned to do so. These tasks may be related to their job responsibilities or may be additional tasks that the leader believes will be beneficial to the organization.
Leadership ministry: This refers to tasks that are focused on developing and supporting other leaders within the organization. This may include providing mentorship, coaching, and guidance to junior leaders, as well as developing and implementing leadership development programs.
Legacy ministry: This refers to tasks that are focused on leaving a lasting impact or legacy within the organization. Here someone has become a leader of leaders. This person has simultaneously become obsolete and irreplaceable.
